Orientations
Visit the library, discover resources, and learn valuable research skills that will help you get ahead!
During a Library Orientation, you'll explore the many resources and services at your own campus library, and
gain the research skills you'll need to make your academic year a success. Topics covered in an orientation
include:
- General overview of the library website and services
- How to use the Research Databases
- How to find scholarly, peer-reviewed articles
- How to find books and DVDs
- How to locate and order materials from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan.
Orientations are scheduled primarily during September, October and January, and take about an hour. Sign-up sheets
for scheduled orientations are located in the library.
Can't fit a scheduled orientation into your busy calendar? You may request an individual orientation at any time
during our open hours by contacting your nearest campus library.
If you're a Distance student, you can also participate in an orientation, specific to your needs, by telephone.
Call our toll-free number to set up an orientation with a librarian, and learn about the resources and services available
to our Distance students.
