Recording a Meeting

While having the ability to offer students a recording of your research session is something that some students may appreciate and benefit from, know that recording the session is not mandatory.

You do not have to record the entire session -  perhaps you only record navigating the search or demonstrating how to use the citation guide. If you prefer to not be in the recording then let the student know that you will be turning your camera off for the recorded portion of the session.

  • Moderator Tips
  • Providing Notice, Knowledge & Respectful Use of Video
    • You should always offer three pieces of information (notice, knowledge and respectful use) to students about BlueJeans recordings. These three details should be shared and discussed with students. Allow students time to ask questions or to share any concerns or questions about the recording.

Additional Notes

  • BlueJeans recordings exist indefinitely on the Montreal BlueJeans server unless you delete the recording.
  • All recordings will be deleted by Jennifer Evans after the last exam date for the term. In this way we are reducing any risks that the recordings will be inappropriately used.
  • YOU DO NOT need to record. It is optional.
