Google Scholar can be connected to the NIC Library so you can access articles and books licensed by the library directly from your search results. This feature helps you save time by linking you to resources your institution already provides, instead of running into paywalls. Once the connection is set up, a “Get this @ NIC Library” option will appear next to results when full text is available.
When you configure Google Scholar with your personal Google account, this setting will save across devices, saving you time.
If you don't have a Google account, you can follow these steps before each browsing session.
1. Go to Google Scholar and click the menu icon (☰), and select Settings.
2. In Settings, select Library links from the sidebar
3. In the search box, type "North Island College" and select the two checkboxes that appear. Click Save.
Now, when you search, links to your library’s holdings will appear next to articles you can access.
