eBooks: How to Find eBooks: Accessing eBooks through DOAB

Accessing eBooks through DOAB

The Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) is a helpful resource that indexes and provides access to scholarly, peer-reviewed open access books and helps users to find trusted open access book publishers.

NIC students can conveniently access the DOAB results from their main library search (EBSCO Discovery search).

To find DOAB results:

  • Search for the topic of your interest, and narrow the results down to eBooks

  • The eBook's source (Directory of Open Access Books) can be found on the results page. Click on the book's title to open the detailed record.

  • Scroll down in the detailed records page to find the "Access URL" section. There will often be multiple links. The links beginning with https://directory.doabooks.org will open the Directory of Open Access Books page, where you can find the resource access link
