Google Scholar: Searching Off-Campus

Remote Access

An important thing to remember when using an e-resource like Google Scholar from off-campus is that you will be prompted to log in.  You can log in using your myNIC credentials, which consists of your student number and your password.

Link to Full Text Articles

You can link to full text articles in NIC databases by accessing Google Scholar through the NIC library.

Once you have completed a search, you will see "Get this @ NIC Library" links to the right of some search results:

These are the articles which can be found in full text in NIC databases and you can access them by following the link.

Interlibrary Loans

Did you find an interesting article that is not available full text at NIC? You can request a copy!

Using NIC's Interlibrary Loan service, NIC students, staff, and faculty can borrow course and program-related materials not available in the NIC collection from other BC libraries.  Students may receive 10 interlibrary loans per course, per semester.

Requests for Interlibrary Loan materials are normally filled within 7 to 10 working days, and you will be contacted when the material arrives at your campus library. Items can be picked up and returned at the circulation desk.
