The AskAway button is now on the bottom right corner of your screen as a blue chatbox icon.
When AskAway is open, there will be a green check mark on the top of the button.
When AskAway is closed, there will be a red X icon on top of the button, and clicking on the icon will direct you to NIC Library's research help page.
Once clicked, the AskAway chatbox will open in a new window.
When searching for books, check the availability under the 'Status' field, and the location of the book.
To place a hold, click on 'Access options' and select 'View Catalouge Record'.
You will be directed to NIC Library's Catalogue.
Under 'Item Details' on the left hand side of the screen, select 'Place Hold'
Complete the required information field and click on 'Place Hold'.
There are multiple ways to access the 'Cite' button.
Remember: the cite button is rarely 100% accurate. Always double-check your citations with the Citation Guide or contact Library.Research@nic.bc.ca
1. From the results page, find the three dots on the right hand side of the article you want to cite.
2. When viewing the resource in the detailed information page, find the 'Cite' icon on the top right-hand corner.
3. From the new Cite box, select the style you are using.
