Zotero Citation Management Tool

Zotero is a free source to help you format your reference lists in APA, MLA or Chicago Style.

What is Zotero?

Zotero is a citation management tool designed to help you organize your citations and create a Bibliography/References list or Works Cited list.

In Zotero you can:

  • Add items from a Library database result list, a web browser search, or a Google Scholar search.
  • Manually add items.
  • Create Collections with titles that are meaningful to you (a research paper title, a course name, a course number or whatever you choose).
  • Give your items "tags" or subject terms so that you can search for them by tag at a later date.
  • Create a bibliography or a references list or a works cited list in the citation style of your choice.
  • Add in-text citations to your paper.
