Basic Guide for Web Accessibility

This guide distills the WCAG 2.2 requirements into basic forms and how to apply it to LibGuides and web content.

Media Types

Non-text content includes audio, video, pictures, pictures of text, captcha, graphs, charts and maps.

There are always exceptions to some of these rules. Logotypes and decoration do not often need alt text, but it can still be helpful to the user to include it.

There are times when a non-text image is necessary and it can be included, as long as text descriptions accompany it.

Testing situations are also exceptions when presenting media without additional texts.

There are exceptions for many rules depending on the circumstances, but reading through the linked "Understanding Success Criterion XXX" can help with these issues.
