Handy features

Permalinks (permanent or persistent links), are links that will not change or expire. In the past, users were required to use the permalink button to generate a permanent link.

In the new interface, the browser links are now stable, meaning they can be shared and re-accessed.

There are multiple ways to copy a persistent link.

1. Browser address bar

The new EBSCO interface allows you to copy a permalink directly from the browser's address bar.

Copy the link directly from your window to save both searches and specific resources.

2. Use the 'Share' function

Using the 'Share' function from items will generate a shorter, more friendly link.

  • Find the three dots to expand the item menu. Click on "Share"

  • A new window will pop up, where you will find the "Create link" option at the bottom.

  • Copy the generated link

In a series of searches, applied filters will remain by default across multiple searches.

The 'Sticky filter' is meant to save you time when running multiple searches with the same criteria.

For example, when you are looking for peer-reviewed results only, the selected peer review filter will stay selected in all searches until you select it off.

I don't want sticky filters. How do I turn this off?

  1. Click on the all filters button to open the right filter panel
  2. Click on the lock icon
  3. In the drop-down options, click on remove filters between searches
  4. Click anywhere on the screen outside the right filter panel to close the panel
  5. Edit your search terms and hit enter

When using the main library search (EBSCO Discovery Search), you may see a blue "Related Resources" button appear on the bottom right hand side of the screen.

This tool recommends other databases and Research Guides you can explore based on your search topic.

  1. Click on the MyEBSCO link in the top right-hand corner
  2. In the dropdown, click on My Preferences
  3. You will see a new screen with a Select your language dropdown
  4. Click on the bar with the default language (English)
  5. Scroll through the options and click on your preferred language
  6. Click on the Save button
