1. Is there a dress code to follow when I am working in the library?
Student Assistants may wear casual attire. Be sure to dress appropriately for the duties of your job. Avoid clothing or footwear that restricts movement. Please do not wear clothing with offensive or obscene images or foul language. If you have questions regarding appropriate attire, please ask your supervisor.
2. How many hours per week can I expect to work?
Student Assistants may work up to 40 hours per month on campus. In the library, you can expect to work between 1 and 5-hours per week.
3. Will I be expected to work alone in the library?
You will never be alone in the library during a shift. There will be at least one other library employee working with you at all times.
4. Can I do homework during my shift?
No. Student Assistants have scheduled shifts in order to assist library staff with important duties. If you have questions about this, please ask your supervisor.
5. Can I leave the library during my break?
Yes. If you go on a break during your shift, you may leave the library or leave campus, as long as you return at the expected time.
