Newspaper Article, Online or Library Database, No Author

If you are referring to a newspaper article that has no author, list the first few words of the title followed by the year. Italicize the title.

Title of Article and year of publication placed in brackets at the end of a paraphrased sentence.

Note: If you are paraphrasing from a lengthy document, also include page, paragraph or heading info. 

 

Consider this a paraphrased sentence (School Nutrition, 1989).

Sentence beginning with Title of Article followed immediately by date in brackets; para # in brackets at the end of the quote.

 

According to School Nutrition (1989), "consider this a direct quote" (para. 4).

 

 

Remember, in-text citation formatting changes depending on a number of factors.
