In-text Citation Guidelines

Examples

1.

Author(s) last name(s) and year of publication  placed in brackets at the end of a paraphrased sentence. Connect final two names with '&'.

Note: If you are paraphrasing from a lengthy document, also include page, paragraph or heading info.

Consider this a paraphrased sentence (Feather, 2018).

2.

Quote, beginning with author(s) last name(s); year  at the end of the sentence in brackets. Connect final two names with 'and'.

According to Feather, "consider this a direct quote" (2018).

3.

Sentence beginning with video author(s) last name(s) followed immediately by date in brackets. Connect final two names with 'and'.

According to Feather (2018), "consider this a direct quote".

Remember, in-text citation formatting changes depending on a number of factors.
