In-text Citation Guidelines

Examples

1.

Producer(s) and/or director(s) last name(s) and year of publication placed in brackets at the end of a paraphrased sentence. Connect final two names with '&'.

Consider this a paraphrased sentence (Edwards, 2019).

2.

Quote, beginning with producer(s) and/or director(s) last name(s); year  at the end of the sentence in brackets. Connect final two names with 'and'.

According to Edwards, "consider this a direct quote" (2019).

3.

Sentence beginning with producer(s) and/or director(s) last name(s) followed immediately by date in brackets. Connect final two names with 'and'.

According to Edwards (2019), "consider this a direct quote".

Remember, in-text citation formatting changes depending on a number of factors.

See Number and Type of Author(s), Publication Date, and Page/Paragraph Number or Heading for more information.
