Items In Transit

In Workflows there are two wizards to manage items in transit under Circulation > In-Transit Items

  • Pending Transit –see what is in transit to your campus.

  • Receive Transit – receive in transit items.  (Note: Circulation > Discharging works as well and is the preferred method.

If the item was being sent to fill a hold, first Discharge it, then you will be able to charge it to a user.

If there are multiple holds on the item you will be prompted to route the item to HOLDS.  Enter the override code.  The item is then available to be charged to the first requestor, and additional holds will remain in the system.  When the item is returned discharge as usual, and the system will advise of the hold for the next person.

If the name of the requestor changes while in transit this could mean that the hold for the original requestor expired.  Check with the original requestor to see if they still need the item before forwarding.
