Creating References for Podcasts

 

TEMPLATE:

Host, A. A., Host, B. B., & Host, C. C. (Host or Executive producer). (Year launched-Present). Title of podcast in sentence case and italics [Audio or Video podcast]. Producer. https://www.url

 

EXAMPLE:

Vedantam, S. (Host). (2015-Present). Hidden brain [Audio podcast]. NPR. https://www.npr.org/series/423302056/hidden-brain


 Notes:

  • Host, A. A. = Host's surname followed by first and middle initials, when available.
  • List the host or executive producer of the podcast as the author and include their role in parentheses.
  • The date range should include the first year launched and the last year of production or "present" if the production is ongoing.
  • Specify the type of podcast (audio or video) in square brackets.
  • If the URL is unknown (e.g., if accessed via an app), omit the URL from reference.

  • Include the year, month, and date of episode when available.
  • If the podcast does not have numbered episodes, omit the number from the reference.
  • Specify the type of podcast (audio or video) in square brackets.
  • If the URL is unknown (e.g., if accessed via an app), omit the URL from reference.
