When citing a figure in-text, always refer to the figure by its figure number.
Examples:
1. Figure 1 shows the event-related potentials...
2. The association between Idea A and Idea B was not significant for women (see Figure 1).
Each source cited in the figure note should have a matching reference in your reference list.
Reference each item according to the format. For example, if you used information from a book to create a figure in your paper, that book should be listed in your references.
